Position Overview

The Analyst, Sales Associate will be part of a sales analytics team responsible for analyzing sales and inventory data to provide insights and actionable reporting to management. This team works closely with large national retailers such as Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and Walmart to build sales forecasts, monitor inventory levels, and deliver actionable insights to the sales team. In addition to supporting brick & mortar sales channels, the group also provides traffic & sales analytics for Canon’s e-commerce channel. The analytics group is also responsible for developing and maintaining new database reporting systems. This role will work closely with senior management across many departments including sales, finance, marketing, product control, and IT.
The successful candidates will have experience in sales/marketing analytics and will have previously worked directly with senior Sales and Marketing management. Candidates must be able to understand business objectives and draw meaningful conclusions from their analysis. Candidates are expected to be familiar with database technologies and should be able to design and maintain system enhancements. Knowledge of e-commerce and web analytics preferred. Candidates should be able to translate business questions to SQL queries for analysis. Experience of working in a business unit is a must, and candidate must have excellent teamwork capabilities. The sales analyst must be creative, motivated, and a strong communicator.


- Compile sales and inventory data from business partners for weekly ETL processing and deliver reporting to Sales, Product, and Marketing team
- Analyze store level sales data to manage inventory and track promotional lifts at retail locations
- Work closely with business partners and internal teams to develop short-term and long-term sales forecasts and trends. Identify risks and opportunities to current forecast.
- Participate in weekly collaborative conference calls with business partners
- Develop new process enhancements to improve reporting capabilities and support additional group responsibilities
- Proactively determine best methods to gather data and solve complex problems used to identify new business opportunities with existing clients and business partners.
- Collaborate with business units, technology teams, and support teams to analyze and understand new reporting requests.
- Ability to understand data to help solve the business objectives.
- Liaison with IT teams to capture new data sources and implement updated requirements.
- Actively research current technologies and explore opportunities to enhance reporting capabilities in the organization.


- Bachelor’s degree required (quantitative background preferred)
- 0-2 years experience in a similar role is required.
- Experience in SQL required,  and understanding of relational data a plus.
- Experience with Tableau, Python, and R a plus.
- High level knowledge of Microsoft Excel with experience with (v-lookup and pivot tables) and PowerPoint required.
