Position Overview

Canon USA seeks a motivated, hands-on Software Solutions Technical Specialist (Systems Solutions Representative III) who enjoys customer contact to diagnose connectivity and functionality problems on high end copiers as well as the integration of various software products.
Position will troubleshoot, research, recreate issues to provide software/solution focused solutions to repair the customer’s products. You’ll work closely with field technicians and Canon Resellers to repair the customer’s products to working condition. You will be a part of a fast-moving team responsible for providing excellent support to our Canon dealer partners. This is a highly visible, high-impact position which is key in maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.


Working in Irvine, Ca., you will work in our certified Center of Excellence to provide telephone and web based technical assistance to Canon dealer partners.
- Provide advanced telephone and web based technical assistance to Canon resellers and dealers regarding product connectivity and functionality integration on various hardware and software issues in order to provide timely solutions. This will include:
- High end copier connectivity and functionality as well as integration of various hardware and software products.
- Network connectivity support for production office equipment such as imageRUNNER, imagePRESS and Varioprint devices, along with software support for uniFLOW, Document Server and other Canon software products.
- Duplicate or re-create issues in a lab environment in order to obtain information and provide a solution.
- Log all calls into the Call Management System in order to manage callers' inquiries in the most effective and professional manner.
- Challenge yourself constantly in the diagnosis, troubleshooting, and installation of Canon Business Imaging Solutions Group (BISG) Connectivity Products.


- Requires a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or Management Information Systems with specific technical coursework.
- Certification such as Network+ (strongly preferred), A+, Microsoft MTA (Networking Fundamentals) or equivalent.
- At least two years of experience in a networking environment with a background in a technical support capacity that utilized your troubleshooting skills to provide issue resolution.
- Working knowledge of current and upcoming versions of Windows, Mac, and Linux OSs.
- Practical applied knowledge of Microsoft and standard network technologies.
- Demonstrated proficiency in setting up and diagnosing networked office/workgroup environments.
- Working application knowledge of current versions of popular commercial software packages (i.e. Office, Acrobat, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Working knowledge of common networking/communication protocols.
- Ability to maintain organization and prioritization for project assignments.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly in communicating over the phone and via email.
