Position Overview

Canon, U. S. A., Inc. is currently hiring for our 2018 Canon Insights Intern Program.  The Insights Program is a comprehensive program that runs for 10 weeks during the summer. This is a full-time (9 AM to 5 PM), 35 hours a week, paid internship. This program is designed to provide students an opportunity to gain hands-on work experience by participating in significant work projects and exposure to various business units within Canon.


Collaboration with the social Media Department, business units and product groups on sourcing and development for social platforms like Facebook, Twitter, lnstagram, Linkedln, Pinterest, Snapchat, Canon Forum and others as needed.
As we continue to expand and enhance CUSA's existing and newly launched platforms, our followers have greater and greater expectations of high-quality, compelling content. This intern would bolster the social media departments ability to meet this demand by working with corporate and business group contacts to identify and/or adapt existing and new content to be social-media ready. Work with the social media dept and other business units wo help ensure the success of social marketing by identifying and posting relevant content that will generate high engagement and further interaction amongst members, clients and customers alike.
Support related to the maintenance and expansion of the content calendar for the CUSA Social Media deptartment. Provide additional checks and balances with the department by entering content into the content calendar, scheduling content within our Spredfast SMMS management system, assist in the preparation of the extended social media weekly meetings, brainstorm sessions on trending topic ideas as well as intern representation on our social properties for the Insights Program managed by the Careers Dept.


We prefer students that are entering their Junior or Senior year as of the Summer 2018, however, all are welcome to apply. To succeed in the Insights Program, you must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel and Power point, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. We also require candidates to be enrolled in a related major in the department of interest and have some former work or internship experience.
- Bachelor's in Marketing Communications/Public Relations/Advertising or related field with 2 years' experience working with social media platforms is beneficial.
- The Social Media Department intern would need to be adept in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong verbal and communication skills are a must.
- Must be willing to attend multiple meetings with vendors, product groups and management to understand the breadth and scope of social media department, goals and future plans.
