Position Overview

As senior member of the Product Planning & Marketing team within Canon U.S.A.'s production print division you are a key influencer of the company's product roadmap and responsible for product lifecycle management and marketing planning for an assigned portfolio of digital production presses and related accessories.
You help optimize the product line-up and establish, enhance or distinguish product placement within the competitive arena. Working with an interdisciplinary and international team from research & development to sales, you identify customer needs, monitor competitive activity, initiate required market research, develop product positioning, product launch plans and supporting programs and support sales to achieve set business objectives.

Responsibilities

•Market intelligence: Assess the needs of targeted segments for the assigned portfolio by gathering market information from Canon’s customers and channels in cooperation with Canon's segment marketing specialists. Develop and transfer market insights within the organization to steer the development of appropriate product roadmaps, marketing strategies and programs and ensure the proper positioning of Canon products.
•Product launch strategy: Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates assigned product lines in the market. Develop competitive marketing and pricing strategies in order to provide concise information and coordinated recommendations to divisional management on new and existing products.
•Product launch: Plan the launch of new products and releases in alignment and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan. Lead and/or closely cooperate with interdisciplinary product launch team including Canon Headquarters or third party vendors to plan and execute marketes within your portfolio.
• Sales enablement: Conduct product briefings, communicate the value proposition of assigned product lines to Canon's direct and indirect sales channels and develop the sales tools that support the buyer's journey. 
• Field support: As the product expert for your portfolio you participate in industry trade shows, conduct product presentations and support the field on a daily basis.

Qualifications

- The position requires a Master’s degree in Business Administration or Marketing or equivalent work experience. 
- 5-7 Years experience inproduct planning, product marketing, product management required
- Independent operation
- A minimum of seven to nine years of related experience is required with at least five years in a sales and/or marketing position in the business to business arena.
- He/she should possess very good written and verbal communication skills, excellent people and project management skills, the desire and ability to work in a cross-functional team with diverse subject matter expertise and cultural backgrounds and the capability of presenting highly technical information in a clear and understandable manner.
- Understanding of the communications and printing industry is required.
- Approximately 25% travel will be required. Employee must possess a valid driver’s license.
