Position Overview

We have an exciting opportunity in our Irvine office to support Canon, Inc. and Canon Americas in obtaining U.S. and worldwide patents.  This position supports the IP department by assisting attorneys on various legal activities.

Responsibilities

- Assist in preparing routine legal documents and reports
- Provide patent prosecution administrative support, includes working with patent attorneys/agents to file formal papers
- Maintain/update patent database as needed
- Correspond with clients as needed
- Provide other administrative support as needed
- Update system with fees paid to the USPTO and maintain accurate time keeping

Qualifications

Requires a High School diploma or GED, plus 2-5 years of patent prosecution administrative support experience.
 
Detail oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
 
Basic MS Office skills (Word, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat.
