Position Overview

Plan, coordinate and monitor project schedule, budget, resources, and handles other necessary tasks to ensure successful and timely completion of all projects.
 

Responsibilities

- Assist with the creation of and maintain detailed MS Project Schedules; set deadlines, monitor progress and ensure team members are meeting established targets.
- Maintain complete understanding of the status of each project at all times.
- Present and explain projects to stakeholders and management, including top executives.
- Follow up on deviations from established timelines to determine reasons schedule is not being met and communicates any necessary adjustments to project team.
- Use knowledge of businesses, organizations, products, processes, tools (i.e. MS Project/Gantt Charts), PMBOK, resource leveling and allocation techniques to ensure project requirements are met.
- Assist management with benefit versus risk assessment.
- Determine whether items are in or out of scope by weighing priority, technical concerns, schedule risks and estimated resource usage.
- Evaluate resource availability to create project proposal and selection process.
- Work with stakeholders to determine the goal and purpose of each project.
- Review detailed schedules with management and create baselines upon approval.
- Monitor and control projects through weekly reports to management and stakeholders.
- Monitor resource usage to ensure critical tasks are optimized and resources are not over allocated. Coordinate with appropriate personnel to obtain necessary resources.
- Establish and monitor action items to ensure timely completion.
- Guarantee each project meets or exceeds customer expectations regarding cost, time, etc.
- Monitor project performance and communicate schedule changes, cost adjustments, additional resources or any other change impacting the project.
- Facilitate technical reviews and meetings to explain project issues relating to resources, timing, etc.
- Provide recommendations during the creation of Project Teams. Identify, assess, and minimize project risks where possible.
- Evaluate current procedures and recommend changes to improve efficiency of planning and scheduling projects.
- Identify opportunities for follow-up or new projects within the project scope.
- Investigate and troubleshoot customer issues. Create and maintain templates for project management documents.
- Obtain and monitor document approval to ensure all documents receive proper approval for publication in system.
- Update project folder structure to better organize and share project related materials.
- Perform critical path analysis to determine projected completion date. Identify when to adjust tasks to accelerate project completion. Use Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK) to define project management workflow.
- Escalate issues that impact timing and/or budget to appropriate stakeholders.
- Provide training for members on various project management techniques.
- Develop and utilize Resource Pools across multiple Projects.
- May be assigned additional duties and/or special projects.
 

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related field with a minimum of 5-8 years’ of Project Management related experience.
- Proficient in MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel).
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- May have to work overtime and may be assigned to other shifts based on company needs.
