    Position Overview

    Applying the technical knowledge & skills to define, implement and verify processes that are necessary to meet the quality requirements of the product and of the customer with the objective of efficiently achieving customer satisfaction.


    - Leads and conducts investigations of complaints and/or nonconformities in quality to determine the root cause of the issue. Develops, implements, and verifies the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.
    - Collaborates with cross functional team (e.g., manufacturing, supplier engineering, etc.) to facilitate and support cor-rective action and preventive action plans.
    - Evaluates product to ensure compliance to specifications and regulations and revises or modifies specifications as needed to improve efficiency via the appropriate change control and design channels.
    - Develops systems and methods to implement & maintain to support the production of conforming product (work-in-process or final). Reviews & analyzes data to understand product and process performance. Coordinates activities with necessary departments concerning the evaluation of new products or equipment for the determination of operational standards.
    - Establishes change and/or process control activities including tests and inspections that are performed within the man-ufacturing process. Monitors controls for effectiveness and reports findings to team as needed. Understands and estab-lishes Quality Management System requirements, procedures, evaluations, reporting, data and objectives. Identifies critical to quality processes and reviews the related key performance indicators
    - (KPI). Monitors quality KPIs and defining items requiring improvement.
    - Establishes programs to evaluate precision and accuracy of production and processing equipment and testing, meas-urement and analytical facilities. Troubleshoots more complex quality issues. Investigates issues and develops coun-termeasures to prevent future occurrence.
    - Develops process improvement initiatives based upon the results from failure mode, effect analysis, process capability and root cause analysis. Evaluates quality test results for accuracy. Utilizes statistical analysis to ensure process is ca-pable.. May train less experienced Engineers on department processes or systems.
    - Creates, maintains, and drives detailed project schedules across multiple disciplines (and may lead projects and/or small teams). Confers with division management, production, and other staff to analyze process feasibility, cost effec-tiveness and reliability of new and existing products. Prepare proposals (including recommended suppliers, parts pric-ing, alternative implementation strategies, and timeline/schedule) for submission to customer. Provides guidance and answers quality questions during proposal meetings.
    - Performs complex statistical analysis of data for complex processes and draws appropriate conclusions.
    - Reviews quality data analysis performed by less experienced members and provides feedback.
    - Mentors and trains less experienced Engineers.
    - May develop methods to assess cost and responsibility of discrepant material.
    - May compile and write training materials and operating standards; conducts training sessions on quality control.
    - May be assigned additional duties and/or special projects.


    - A Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical or Quality Engineering and 5-8 years’ experience in a qual-ity environment or related field. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project & Minitab software.
    - Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    - The ability to create and verbally deliver presentations to internal upper management and other audiences.
    - Understanding of engineering and process improvement principals (i.e.- Process Capability, Control Charts, Root Cause Analysis, Trend Analysis, Correlation, Failure Mode Effect Analysis, Gage R&R, Design of Experiments & other). Requires strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills.
    - Ability to work independently and in a project team environment.
    - May have to work overtime and may be assigned to other shifts based on company needs.
