Position Overview

Provides engineering support to automated and semi-automated production/process lines.



  • Schedule, plan and support projects to qualify suppliers, parts and/or materials for mass production.
  • Support cost reduction and lean engineering projects.
  • Performs trial verifications, mass trials or pilot studies to confirm quality of new products, materials or process improvements.
  • Utilizes CADAM to update and revise product drawings to comply with engineering changes and revisions.
  • Provides technical support to the manufacturing departments to solve production problems related to parts and/or process design for yield and quality improvement.
  • Utilizes mechanical background to troubleshoot problems with process and to recommend improvements in process to increase efficiency.
  • Issues Engineering Change Orders, Engineering Change Instructions, extra reworks and process flow diagrams.
  • Coordinates directly with suppliers to provide quality parts and services.
  • Assists in designing hand tools, jigs, etc. in order to improve quality and efficiency of production.
  • Evaluates operational systems and recommends design modifications or changes in system requirements to eliminate causes of malfunctions due to the packaging of the product.
  • Investigates, researches, and/or analyzes new technology and existing equipment/systems to determine need for modification/improvement and the feasibility of introducing new equipment or processes.
  • Develops implementation alternatives/options and proposes them to management for review and approval.
  • May be assigned additional duties and/or special projects.



  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, 2-5 years experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) required.
  • Oracle experience and experience with statistical process control a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills, ability to conduct cause and effect investigations to support manufacturing assembly processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects to agreed upon timeframes.
  • Statistical process control and measurement experience preferred.
  • Requires strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills.
  • Must have ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. 
  • May have to work overtime and may be assigned to other shifts based on company needs.
