Position Overview

Canon announced in the Fall of 2016 that within two years we would start supplying our image sensors to other manufacturers for the first time. Up until now, all of the output has gone into our own digital cameras and video cameras.  Looking to the immediate future we intend to to supply our image sensors to other specialized devices and industrial applications.
 
We are excited to announce that we have started marketing the products and show casing them at industry shows!  As we build a team that will be responsible for selling and marketing this new product line, we are now ready to make our first sales position hire!  Come and join this leading technology company and be a part of the excitement of breaking into industries that have never dealt with Canon before.
 
You will provide total end-to-end client management from creating initial interest, technical/engineering support and solution consultation for immediate to future projects.

We are looking to hire a Sales Engineer (Engineer, Field Applications) where you will use your sales skills to support this new business of selling CMOS Sensors to integrators and end user client.
 
Primarily responsible to identify and define client needs and develop a plan and proposal for delivery of the product.

Responsibilities

- Develop new and expand existing account relationships and manage prospects.
- Evaluate client requirements and develop appropriate solutions; collaborate on future solutions.
- Generate quotations and proposals in response to RFQs and RFPs.
- Function as liaison between the client, production, engineering and service.
- Create awareness for Canon’s products and services; Conduct presentations, account visits and demonstrations; Attend and staff technical exhibitions and shows.
- Participate in the identification and development of new market opportunities.
- Participate in market analysis and identifying competitive and complimentary technologies and products.
- Support new business of selling CMOS Sensors to Integrators and end user client.

Qualifications

- Minimum B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or in a related technical field is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of industry experience in business related to image sensor solutions and systems is preferred but not required.
- Strong self directed organizational skills as well as time management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and sales management software like Salesforce.com.
- Superior interpersonal and written/oral skills, with the ability to relate well with others, to effectively coordinate activities and accomplish goals.
- Demonstrated ability in problem solving and crafting win win solutions.
- Ability to lift demonstration equipment, up to 50lbs.
- 50% travel is required. This position requires driving for company business as an essential function of the job and therefore, you must remain in compliance with company safety guidelines and policies.
