Responsibilities:

The Contract Specialist is responsible for negotiating, securing award of and administering Commercial and/or state contracts, blanket delivery arrangements, and certain Canon Reseller and System Integrator contracts.

 

Responsibilities would include the following:

  • Preparing, submitting and serving as lead negotiator for offers for Commercial and State contracts, blanket purchase agreements and reseller/integrator contracts including the coordination and compilation of all required information, and determination of pricing, products and programs for offer submission.
  • Conducting “at-the-table” pricing, terms and conditions, and negotiating offers to result in successful, timely and profitable contracts for Canon. Negotiating subcontract terms and conditions with commercial and state customers and serve as lead negotiator to reseller and system integrator terms and conditions with companies marketing Canon products to commercial or state customers. Reviewing contracts to determine compliance with established Canon requirements and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Ensuring all contract information is accurate and disseminating this information to affected internal departments to inform them of their respective roles in the contract. Serving as the principal source of information for internal personnel and ensuring full understanding of all contractual requirements, terms and conditions by Sales Representatives and Order Administration personnel.  Coordinating training for Canon personnel and dealers.
  • Analyzing price variations from published price lists in order to ensure compliance with all contractual obligations. Tracking and reporting all necessary data to comply with audit and review requirements.
  • Directing the publication of contract pricing schedules and modifications, editing initial award announcements, and reviewing dealer bulletins and valued customer letters. Administering awarded contracts which include modification preparation. Announcing contract modifications to Canon personnel, dealers and customers.
  • Serving as the contract point of contact, jointly with the Compliance and Internal Audit departments, in any pre –award or post award contractual inquiries in order to ensure continued and complete contract compliance.
  • Monitoring and reviewing third party contracts (resellers/integrators).


Qualifications:

This role requires a Bachelors degree and a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience managing commercial and/or state and federal contracts. Experience with contract negotiation, government regulations, audits, and compliance training required. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and superior interpersonal skills in order to effectively work across Canon departments and with external agencies, dealers and customers.  We are seeking a self starter who is comfortable making decisions based on guidelines set forth by Senior Management.
